A MAN has been ordered to pay £300 compensation after stealing from his employer.
Philip Steel, of Baring Street, South Shields, was ordered to hand over the cash after a hearing at Sunderland Magistrates’ Court.
The 38-year-old pleaded guilty to stealing £300 from Nike’s head office in Doxford Park, which was intended to be given to charity.
District Judge Roger Elsey ordered Steel pay £300 to a prostate cancer charity. He must also complete a 12-month community order with supervision.
