THESE two cute young South Tynesiders have certainly pulled on the heartstrings.
Daniel Armstrong and Charlie Reeves both won the Gazette’s annual Christmas Cracker competition.
The pair were among scores of youngsters who, with the help of their parents, got into the festive spirit by dressing up.
The Gazette’s panel of judges thought they were both irresistible and they have now won tickets to the soft play area at the Dunes Adventure Island, off Sea Road, South Shields.
Kayleigh Reeves, mum, to 16-week-old Charlie, is delighted her son did so well as he celebrated his first Christmas with his big sisters Grace, seven, and Lauren, four.
Mrs Reeves, 26, who’s married to Leigh, 31, and is from Hedworth, Jarrow, said: “With it being Charlie’s first Christmas, we thought we’d dress him up in a little Santa outfit.
“We thought he looked very cute.
“He’s a bit too little really to enjoy the prize but I know his sisters will certainly have plenty of fun and he can watch.”
Three-year-old Daniel’s mum, Angela Armstrong, from Tyne Dock, South Shields, was pleasantly surprised to discover her youngest son’s elf outfit made him such a cracker.
The 45–year–old, who is also mum to Liam, 15, said: “Daniel loves dressing up, he has a toy box full of clothes, so he was more than happy to take part.
“It was a lovely surprise to find out that he was one of the winners. To be honest, I had forgotten all about it.
“We go to the soft play area quite a lot and it’s his birthday next week so he will definitely enjoy that.”
