IT was back to school for Peter and Moira Johnson when they went to Fellgate Primary School to support its autistic unit.
The couple, who own Peter Johnson Funerals in Imeary Street, South Shields, made a £650 donation after a collection at the firm’s annual memorial service.
Mr Johnson said: “We are very grateful to all of those who attended the service and gave so generously.”
Moira Smith, head of the unit, said: “This is a wonderful surprise for all of us.
“This donation will help us to provide more specialised facilities we need for our children.”
