A FUNDRAISING campaign to revamp a Jarrow school will soar to new heights during panto season.

Epinay Business and Enterprise School in Clervaux Terrace is building up to a whole-school production of We Believe In Peter Pan.

The swashbuckling show will feature dancing, singing and circus skills.

Tickets for the show are being sold for £1 each and the raffle will be drawn after the final pantomime performance at 4.30pm on Tuesday, December 17. There is also a 1.30pm show.

It’s part of a campaign by staff and pupils to raise cash for a four-phase building project, dubbed The Big B, with a target for the first phase of £125,000.

Specialist Computer Systems Ltd has donated an android tablet to help the campaign, which staff decided to raffle off to raise funds.

Dianne Mountain, business development manager at the school, said: “Epinay School is continuing efforts to raise funds to refurbish and extend the school buildings.

“The Big B campaign, as it has been named, has four building phases; phase one is estimated to cost £125,000 and will see the extension of the café and community building.

“This is an ambitious campaign and over £14,000 has been raised to date through local fundraising, sponsored events and through support from school stakeholders and local businesses.”

The school is giving one lucky Gazette reader the chance to win four tickets for the must-see family show at Jarrow Community Centre in Cambrian Street, Jarrow.

All you have to do is e-mail dmountain@epinay.org with your name and contact details before Friday, December 13, and the winner will be randomly selected.
