Staff at a South Tyneside-based design company took on an epic charity challenge to raise vital cash for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Leading UK design and installation company, Restaurant Design Associates (RDA), took on the gruelling Total Warrior challenge earlier this month in aid of the charity.

A team of 10 staff from the business - which is based in based at Monkton Business Park - completed the Total Warrior event in the Lake District.

Now in its seventh year, the race saw the team tackle 30 obstacles along the route over hills, rivers and woodland.

Challenges included utilising 10 tons of ice and 100 tons of mud, set over a 10k course, along with a gruelling four-mile fell run.

The team managed to complete the event and beat their original target by 152% to raise £1,825 for the charity.

Alex Bradley, director at RDA, said: “Our team truly did us proud at this year’s Total Warrior event, displaying fantastic teamwork by helping one another through the obstacles.

“All 10 of us completed the course in under three hours, which was a great success.

“And to top off a fantastic day, we raised over £1,800 for the Alzheimer’s Society – a charity close to our hearts.

“We’re already looking forward to next year!”
