A building firm is helping to ensure an East Shields community event will be plenty of fun.

Bellway Homes is contributing £300 towards the cost of this year’s Cleadon Park family fun day.

The event will be held at Ridgeway Primary School, in Park Avenue, on Tuesday, August 12, from 11am to 2pm.

There will be a range of fun activities for youngsters to enjoy including face-painting, a bouncy castle and a magic show.

Staff from South Shields firm Zoo Academy will also be on hand to encourage people to get to grips with a range of animals.

Last year’s event attracted more than 500 visitors, and its organisers are hoping that this year’s event will be even more successful.

Rob Armstrong, sales director at Newcastle-based Bellway, said: “The fun day is a great opportunity for people in Cleadon Park to come together and get to know one another and for youngsters to enjoy the fun of the fair.

“We are very pleased to be once again supporting this community day.”

The event has been organised by the Cleadon Park Regeneration Partnership, formed by South Tyneside Council, Isos, Bellway, Ridgeway School and Children’s Centre and residents.
