YOUNG grappling fans now have the chance to learn the tricks of the sport at a West Shields-based wrestling school.
Georgie Leggett has opened the doors to his Embryonix ‘Lair of Lucha’ Wrestling School full-time so more people can get in on the action.
The club is based at 17 Boldon Lane, and offers people of all ages the chance to learn the fighting style.
Mr Leggett said: “I’ve opened up the school full-time and, as well as kids’ classes, we are also offering private sessions for those wanting to give it a try but are just too shy.
“They are also available for those who are wanting to improve their wrestling skills.”
He said: “We have made it accessible so people can book appointments to suit their work shifts or school and college hours.
“They can learn to do something many people dream of trying but don’t realise they have the chance to try right here in South Tyneside.”
Sessions available include group classes, a kids’ class and a women- only class.
Wrestling is a combat sport involving grappling-type techniques such as clinch fighting, throws and takedowns, joint locks, pins and other grappling holds.
