People are getting the chance to enjoy the fun of the fair and a chance to score a strike to help raise money for good causes.

The Ocean Beach Pleasure Park in South Shields has donated specially-priced tickets giving people more than £30 worth of rides and attractions for just £5 on Saturday, between noon and 2.30pm.

The Mayor of South Tyneside, Coun Alan Smith, is also holding a charity bowling night on Friday at The Dunes on South Shields seafront at 6.30pm.

The price is £10 per person, which includes two games of bowling and a buffet.

The Mayor said: “Both these events are a wonderful opportunity for people to enjoy two great family activities and help raise vital funds for worthy causes across the borough.”

Proceeds from the ticket sales for both fundraising events will go to the Mayor’s Charity.

This year, the annual charity is supporting Diabetes UK South Tyneside, Young Carers in South Tyneside and Citizens Advice Bureau South Tyneside.

Anyone who wants more information or to buy tickets can call the Civic Office, Jarrow Town Hall, on 0191 424 7256.
