A SOUTH Tyneside businesswoman has invited borough folk to shape up for the new year ahead after the indulgences of Christmas.
Jakki Green, who runs Purely Pilates in Front Street, Cleadon, is launching a beginners’ workshop and taster session on Sunday, January 12, from 10am to 12.30pm.
The session will be a full introduction to Pilates, which has celebrity fans such as David Beckham, Miley Cyrus, and Kate Winslet.
Ms Green, an advanced teacher with more than eight years’ experience and a fully-qualified back care professional, said: “Our studio in Cleadon Village offers a friendly informal atmosphere where people can enjoy Pilates.
“Pilates is practised by many including Kate Winslett, Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow and Liz Hurley and David Beckham to name but a few, as well as sportspeople and elite athletes. It is suitable for anyone from fit to unfit, and anything in between.
“It can benefit your body as it will target your deep postural muscles and help to reshape your body to become longer, leaner and more toned.
“It can also improve your posture and relieve unwanted stress and tension – a controlled approach to your fitness will give you long-term results and benefits.”
