COMIC Chris Ramsey went back to the classroom to hand out end-of-term awards.
The South Shields funnyman returned to his former place of learning, Harton Technology College, to attend three prize evenings arranged by staff to reward students for a range of achievements.
Sir Ken Gibson, executive headteacher, said: “It was wonderful to have our former student, Chris Ramsey, at all three of our special prize evenings.
“Chris presented numerous awards, taking centre stage for an hour, and also spoke and told a number of very funny tales.
“The students, staff, parents and governors were in raptures and appreciated the time Chris spent posing for photographs and signing autographs.
“Chris certainly made the events very special and I am extremely grateful to him for giving up his time.”
Chris added: “I have great memories of being a student at Harton, so it has been an honour to take part.
“The students are absolutely fantastic and have done the school proud. I’m blown away by their achievements, from charity work to mentoring younger students. It’s been great fun helping out.”
