Beatles tribute band to play fundraising show

A BEATLES tribute band is hoping it won't be a Hard Day's Night when they perform in the UK for a South Tyneside-based charity.

The Premier Beatles, from Hungary, are booked to play at the Little Haven Hotel, South Shields, in aid of the National Victims' Association.

The group imitating Liverpool's Fab Four have been praised by Queen legend Brian May on his homepage as a group which "really captured the awesome spirit of The Beatles".

And after wowing hotel managing director Adrian Hollingsworth while on holiday in Tenerife, he thought they would be ideal to 'Help' NVA raise much-needed cash for the charity, which supports the families of murder and manslaughter victims across the UK.

Tickets for the event are now on sale, and charity founder David Hines – whose own daughter, Marie, was murdered – hopes the night will be a success.

Mr Hines, from Jarrow, said: "It was Adrian, the managing director, who approached me and said he had seen a group in Tenerife called the Premier Beatles.

"He was so impressed by them that he signed them up to do this event for the charity so people in South Tyneside could see how good they are.

"The Little Haven Hotel has supported us immensely over the years, with our conference needs and promoting us, and we are very grateful they are still looking at ways to help us."

Graham Davidson, general manager at the hotel, said: "Adrian was so impressed by them, he thought they would be ideal entertainment to help NVA in their fund-raising efforts."

Tickets, priced 17.50, for the show on August 1, are available from the Little Haven Hotel on 455 4455.
