EXERCISING novices have no reason to be unhealthy thanks to a South Tyneside fitness expert’s new projects.

Joe Sexton, who runs School Of Weight Loss, has a new initiative launching next month – Bootcamp For Beginners.

Instead of focusing on people already in shape, the 25-year-old wants to help those who may have been too scared to diet and exercise in the past.

Joe, from Westoe Crown Village, in South Shields, said: “I didn’t want people, who may not have ever exercised before, to feel nervous about joining a class full of people who already know what they’re doing.

“That sometimes puts people off if they think they’re going to be the most unfit there.

“The sessions will also be a lot easier than my usual bootcamp classes, because I want to take a more gentle approach and not scare people off on the first day.

“Basically everyone is going to be in the same boat, so there’s no need for people to be worried.”

Joe’s new initiative will begin on Monday, September 1. People will be expected to take part in three bootcamp sessions at the Amphitheatre, in Sea Road, South Shields, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, from 6.45am to 7.15am.

The programme will last for four weeks and Joe will be on hand to give any extra information or advice that’s needed.

People will be also be given a School Of Weight Loss cookbook, a home workout DVD and the option of extra weekend sessions.

Plus they will be added to an online support group, where they can chat with fellow dieters.

Joe added: “I want to hear from people who are exercise novices, people who have tried loads of fad diets with no real results and people who are sick of feeling tired, bloated and unfit.

“I will introduce them to a range of health meals and show them that dieting doesn’t have to be plain and boring.

“This is a chance for people who have shied away from getting fit in the past to take control.”

Bootcamp For Beginners costs £80 for four weeks, or £67 if people sign up for six months. To book a slot, or for more information, e-mail admin@sowl.co.uk or call Joe on 07817 365032.
