Car crashes into skip
A CAR has crashed into a skip on a South Tyneside street.
The accident happened at 4.43pm in Sunderland Road, Westoe, South Shields, yesterday, when a Ford Fiesta collided with the skip.
An off-duty firefighter helped the driver and passenger until the emergency services arrived.
They were then taken to South Tyneside District Hospital for a check-up.
