Carol concert brings festive cheer
SOUTH Tyneside families got in the festive mood with a Christmas concert.
The celebrations, organised by West Boldon Residents' Association, included a children's Christmas party and carol singing around the tree opposite the former Bank Top Garage.
Music was provided by The People's Mission Silver Band with carols by West Boldon Primary School choir.
The Christmas cheer was backed by a 720 grant from the Boldon, Cleadon and Whitburn community area forum.
Chairman of the forum Coun Alison Strike said: "We were delighted to support this event. "
Commie Baker, chairman of the residents' association, added: "Our Christmas festivals have been going for many years and they just get bigger.
"We were absolutely delighted with the amount of people who turned out to our carol service."
