A TEENAGER who fell more than 100ft from a South Tyneside cliff remains in a critical condition for the fifth day.

The 16–year–old fell from rocks near the Grotto in Marsden, South Shields, on Wednesday, at 7.50pm.

The police helicopter took the girl to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary for treatment for suspected head, neck and pelvic injuries, plus a dislocated arm.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “As of 9am today the teenager remained in a critical condition.”
