Family's appeal to find missing RAF veteran

A South Tyneside family has launched a desperate appeal for help to find an RAF veteran missing from his home.

Terry Lee has not had any contact with his family for the past year.

He has also moved from the last known address they had for him in South Shields.

A search for Mr Lee, who is in his 60s, has drawn a blank.

His sister-in-law Joanne Parker said: “Up until a year ago we had recent contact with Terry, but since then there has been nothing.

“Terry keeps himself to himself and on the last phone call we had, he didn’t appear to be any different. There was no cause for concern.

“We are desperate to get in touch with him to inform him of a family emergency, but as yet everything we have done has drawn a blank.”

Terry Lee is originally from Jarrow. He moved to Stepford where he was in the RAF.

He returned to South Tyneside seven years ago, living in a bedsit in South Shields.

The family have contacted the police and also veteran associations linked with the RAF as they try to find him.

They have also filed an appeal on the national missing persons’ register.

Mrs Parker added: “This is not like Terry not to make any contact at all and for such a long time.

“If anyone does know the whereabouts of Terry, to please get in touch. It is vital we are able to contact him.

“The contact details he has for the family have since changed as we have moved home, so there will be no way of him getting in touch with us now.”

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Mr Lee is asked to contact the Gazette on 0191 5017434.
