According to a report in the Mail on Sunday, the man, originally from Kuwait, joined up with the terror group after becoming radicalised.

South Tyneside College declined to comment on the reports, but the Gazette understands the Kuwaiti-born man enrolled on a three-year nautical course at the college’s Marine School, one of the most prestigious in Britain, back in 2011.
