A NIGHT of music is aiming to start a fundraising drive by the Mayor of South Tyneside for her chosen charities.
The Beacon Band will be performing at The Mile pub, in Mile End Road, South Shields, at a pie and peas supper tomorrow.
The night has been organised by the Mayor of South Tyneside, Coun Fay Cunningham, to launch her fundraising campaign for 2014-2015.
The good causes set to benefit from the Mayor’s charity this year include Cancer Connections, St Clare’s Hospice and the Mission to Seafarers.
Coun Cunningham said: “This is my first fundraising event and I’m very excited about it all.
“I’m really looking forward to raising lots of money over the forthcoming year for the charities I’ve chosen to support.”
As well as music from the 1950s to the present day, performed by the Beacon Band, there will be raffles, with a range of prizes up for grabs to help boost funds.
Tickets for the event, priced £5, are available by contacting the Mayor’s secretary on 424 7311. Doors open at 7pm.
