THE Shields Gazette has moved – but we’re still based at the heart of the borough.
We have found a new home in Beach Road, South Shields – directly opposite the Town Hall.
Our reporting and reception staff have re-located from our old offices in the town’s Chapter Row, where the newspaper has been based since before the Second World War.
The building is to be demolished as part of the ambitious £100m ‘South Shields 365’ masterplan, aimed at revitalising our town centre over the next decade.
That work is expected to start in October, with a cinema and restaurants earmarked for the site.
From our new offices at 7 Beach Road, we will still be providing all the latest up-to-date news on what’s happening in South Tyneside.
And our reception staff are available from Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm.
Reception staff can be contacted directly on 501 7224 or 501 5800 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org

Gazette editor Joy Yates said: “It is extremely important for us to remain in the centre of South Shields to continue our extensive coverage of South Tyneside.
“We look forward to welcoming our readers and advertisers to our new offices.”
Established in 1849, the Gazette is the oldest provincial evening newspaper in the UK.
