Local election: Nancy is a big winner in Hebburn South

BIG WINNER ... Coun Nancy Maxwell.

BIG WINNER ... Coun Nancy Maxwell.

LABOUR councillor Nancy Maxwell enjoyed the biggest majority of the night in the local elections, romping to victory in Hebburn South ward.

She won nearly two-thirds of the vote, to record a majority of 920 over her nearest rival.

Nancy Elizabeth Maxwell (LAB) 1,509

Victoria Clare Morris (UKIP) 589

Turnout: 38.5%
