A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital after a crash in South Tyneside.
The man’s bike was in collision with a car at the junction of Green Lane and Boldon Lane in South Shields, at 4.35pm yesterday.
Police and paramedics were scrambled to the scene, at one of the busiest junctions in the town.
Roads nearby were closed for about an hour and diversions put in place until the vehicles and injured man were moved safely away from the scene.
Paramedics assessed the man’s injuries, which are not said to be serious, and took him to hospital with a suspected broken leg.
Traffic was congested while the roads were closed, but it was moving again by about 5.25pm.
