New sponsor makes team a bit tasty!
YOUNG footballers have a bit more bite in their team this season after receiving sponsorship from a South Tyneside sandwich shop.
Tasty Bites, in Horsley Hill Square, South Shields, has bought a new football strip for the Eagles Football Club, who play in the South Tyneside Youth League.
The year-long sponsorship came about after team manager Alan Blackburn popped into the shop and got talking about the youngsters.
Owner Bernice Robinson said: "I dare say it costs a lot to keep a football club up and running, so I thought it would be a nice way to help out a local team who deserves it."
She added: "And they all look lovely in their new strips."
