The Magpies – who have announced that Rafa Benitez will stay on as manager – say the move is to reward the club’s “loyal” supporters.

In February, United confirmed junior season ticket prices had been reduced by up to 54%, while adult prices were frozen.

However, a new 10% discount has now been applied.

Those who are on long-term price deals will still benefit from the cut, and will receive refunds or reductions in their monthly payments.

The club’s managing director, Lee Charnley, said: “With our future under Rafa now secured, we’re delighted to announce price reductions across the board for all supporters.

“Your loyalty through this challenging time has been magnificent and it’s right that we now reward you with savings for our 16-17 Championship season.”

Existing season ticket holders will be written to in the coming days in weeks, with the new prices – as well as the process of applying for refunds or reductions – explained.

Those with a season ticket will also be able to see four extra games, with clubs in the Championship facing 23 home fixtures, compared to 19 in the Premier League.

Fans with an existing one-season, half-season and five-game season ticket will be able to renew online, over the phone or via the club’s matchday box office from Tuesday.

Applications forms and monthly direct debit forms will be available online from Monday, June 6.

In the meantime, all seats which were occupied during the 2015-16 season will be reserved until Friday, July 1 to enable season ticket holders to keep their seat.

If the club has not heard from 2015-16 season ticket holders by Wednesday, June 15, a prompt will be sent giving all the information needed to renew.

Existing hospitality customers will also benefit from a 10% discount, and the club will be in contact shortly to confirm new prices.
