Newcastle’s Hatem Ben Arfa to be sued over ‘sect’ claim
LEGAL ACTION ... Newcastle's Hatem Ben Arfa faces being sued.
NEWCASTLE United star Hatem Ben Arfa is to be sued for libel after claiming he was press-ganged into joining a sect by French rapper Abd al Malik.
“A complaint will be filed,” the artist’s lawyer, Isabelle Weckstein told the Reuters news agency.
He added that al Malik’s manager, Fabien Coste, is also suing the Newcastle United winger.
Ben Arfa said in an interview with L’Equipe newspaper on Monday that Al Malik and Coste tried to force him into a muslim fraternity - “like in a sect” - when he was a teenager at Lyon.
