A PENSIONER has been found dead at South Shields seafront.
Police were called to Sea Road after reports about concern for the welfare of the man, believed to be in his 80s, yesterday afternoon.
When ambulance services arrived, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “Police received report of concern for a man in Sea Road, South Shields at 1.05pm.
“Emergency services attended and along with the air ambulance and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“There is believed to be no third-party involvement in the death. A report will be prepared for the coroner.”
