Print firm goes Native for success

A NEW South Tyneside printing business is planning to make its mark after a £15,000 launch.

Native Print has just opened premises in Beach Road, South Shields, with plans to create new jobs.

With its head office in Heaton, Newcastle, and a factory in Walker, the company's move to South Tyneside is part of its expansion programme.

Company director Dan Kane said: "We recently advertised a graphic design vacancy and quickly realised 36 per cent of the applicants were from the South Tyneside borough.

"This led us to extensive research into the area. After the closure of Printing.com, we decided to expand our services into South Tyneside."

Mr Kane, 27, has just taken on South Shields graphic designer Dan Ashby to manage the new office.

But the company is looking for another worker as part of Native Print's on-demand service.

Customers can walk off the street and access a wide range of printed products, ranging from business cards to digital printing to flyers.

Mr Kane said: "We have spent about 15,000 on setting up the South Shields business, spending the money on the very latest equipment as part of our on-demand service.

"We are also applying for a grant from Business Link to develop the business further.

"Native Print has operated from its headquarters in Chillingham Road, Heaton, for some time, and we also have a production facility in Walker.

"Really, our company is all about helping to supply small businesses with the likes of flyers and a whole range of printed items.

"That's where most of our trade comes from."

Mr Kane said there is scope to create even more jobs as the business develops.

Native Print is based near South Shields Town Hall. Call 455 9855 for more details.
