Shields man denies murder plot

A SOUTH Tyneside man has denied being involved in the execution-style murder of a West Yorkshire car dealer.

Simon Mullen, 39, of Farding Square, Marsden, South Shields, pleaded not guilty to a charge of conspiracy to murder at Leeds Crown Court yesterday.

Christopher Hartley, 45, of Tingley, near Wakefield, West Yorkshire, was killed by shotgun wounds in a quiet country lane in Clayton West, between Huddersfield and Barnsley, last September.

A four-week trial will begin on Wednesday, March 3, at Bradford Crown Court.
