Teen ‘critical’ after horror fall at home

A TEENAGER was left fighting for his life after a horror fall at his South Tyneside home.

The 17-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries after his neck was badly cut by a glass tube when he tripped and fell into a sun bed and then fell down stairs at the first-floor flat in South Frederick Street, South Shields, at about 9am on Sunday.

He was given emergency treatment at the scene and then taken by the Great North Air Ambulance helicopter to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary where his condition is described as “critical”.
