A FAMILY run business got the royal seal of approval today as a princess requested some of its famous saveloys.
The Princes Royal paid a visit to Dicksons in Tyne Dock, South Shields, to mark the company’s 60th anniversary.
Her Royal Highness was taken on a tour of the site and even requested some saveloys to take home.
Michael Dickson, the company’s managing director, said: “It’s been such an honour for us to have the Princes Royal with us here today, she is was very interested in finding out what the company does.
“In fact she even knew more than me about pease pudding, she is very knowledgeable.
“It’s certainly a day to remember.”
