A WOMAN died yesterday after being knocked down by a bus.
The tragedy happened at 9.13am on Split Crow Road, near to the junction with Coldwell Street, Gateshead, when a single decker bus, with no passengers aboard, hit an 81-year-old woman.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
