XXX recruitment ad is withdrawn

A RECRUITMENT ad looking for X-rated internet stars has been pulled.

The Jobcentre Plus office, in Chapter Row, South Shields, was running a posting for webcam performers for adult website Faceclick, paying 700 per week .

But the advert – which sparked fury among jobseekers after being revealed by the Gazette – has now been removed.

A spokesman for the Department for Work and Pensions said it was not removed due to its nature, but because they couldn't confirm it was genuine.

He added: "To make sure jobs advertised with us are genuine, we will approach employers for further information. If we aren't able to get the information we need, we will withdraw the advert until we can."

The advert offered flexible working hours, up to 100 per day and "a job with a difference".

It said applicants must be 18 or over and be bubbly and confident.
