Young dancers have the right moves

FLEET-footed children made all the right moves in a recent dancing competition.

The youngsters, from JnK School of Dance, were competing against three other local groups.

And their three months' training paid off when one of the school's teams picked up first prize.

The dance school, based at The Charles Young Centre in Talbot Road, South Shields, were invited to take part in the contest by Poppleton School of Dance, based in Jarrow.

JnK entered three age groups into the competition, and the middle group won their category.

One of the dancers, five-year-old Gracie Feales, also won the Dancer of the Day award.

Principal teacher Jackie Mahon said: "Our winning team did two routines. They looked great. I'm really proud of them, they did very well to win."

The dance school meets every week and specialises in ballroom, Latin, freestyle and hip-hop dancing.
