Minute's silence held in South Shields for victims of Manchester bombing

South Shields stood silent this morning as respects were paid to victims of the Manchester bombing.

Early this morning, it was confirmed that couple Chloe Rutherford, 17, and Liam Curry, 19, from the town, were two of the 22 people to have lost their lives in the suicide bomb attack.

A national minute's silence was held for all victims of the Manchester Arena tragedy at 11am today.

On the steps of South Shields Town Hall, a crowd gathered as staff and councillors came outside to join in the solemn tribute.
