A group of motorcycle enthusiasts raised more than £10,000 for an armed services charity.
Members of Bad-Landers Motorcycle Club presented a cheque for £10,070 to Elaine Middlemass, a volunteer for Support Our Soldiers.
The money was raised during the 8th annual Armed Forces Day, held in Bents Park, South Shields last month, which was attended by more than 7,000 people.
Around 300 riders on bikes, trikes & scooters rode from Hells Angels club house in Sunderland along the seafront to Bents Park for the start of the event.
The day featured military parades, live entertainment, trade stands and classic cars.
The Army, RAF and Royal Navy were also represented with a host of activities including a paintball range, climbing tower, military vehicles and the Royal Navy Bomb disposal unit.
Also very popular was a display from Yesterday’s Heroes, a re-enactment group who represent Second World War American and British Army as well as the Home Front Support Our Soldiers charity, which provides support to British Armed Forces serving overseas and their families at home. The charity is run purely by volunteers.
To date, Bad-Landers MCC has donated a total of £47,700 to Support Our Soldiers from Armed Forces Day events.
Joe Fairrie, Chairman of Bad-Landers MCC would like to thank everyone who has supported these events over the years and made that possible.
