SOUTH Shields MP Emma Lewell-Buck has been presented with an accolade for raising awareness of dyspraxia.

Mrs Lewell-Buck has received the Mary Colley Award from the Dyspraxia Foundation after using her position as an MP to raise public understanding of the condition, a developmental co-ordination disorder.

The MP suffers from the condition herself and has spoken publicly about the challenges dyspraxics face.

The late Mary Colley, author of Living With Dyspraxia, helped found the Dyspraxic Foundation Adult Support Group.

Mrs Lewell-Buck said: “It is a huge pleasure and honour to receive this award.”
