A SOUTH Tyneside football coach who has helped nurture the talents of young players has been nominated for a national award.
Kevin Carter, coach development officer at Hebburn Town Juniors Football Club, has already won the title of coach of the year with Durham Football Association.
He has also been awarded the title of North East coach of the year.
Now, he has a wait to see if he will be awarded England Coach of the Year after being after put forward for the accolade.
Club chairman Steve Rutherford said: “Kevin has been with us for eight years now, and he is not just a coach to the players but also a coach mentor.
“He assists in developing the players and ensures the club’s philosophy is passed on to them through the coaches.
“He is a real asset to Hebburn Town Juniors and we are really pleased his work and dedication to the club has been recognised in this way.”
He added: “We are delighted Kevin has not only been awarded coach of the year with Durham FA and North East coach of the year but has also been put forward for the chance to be n amed as national coach of the year.”
Kevin will find out later this year if he has been successful.
