Police appeal after teen threatened with a knife at Hebburn metro station

Police are hunting a man who threatened a teenager with a knife as she stood at a South Tyneside metro station.

The 15-year-old was at Hebburn Metro station when she was threatened by a man with a knife.

The teenager wasn’t injured but was left shaken.

Police were called but when officers arrived the man had fled the scene.

It happened at 9.20pm on July 23.

Police have released an image of man they would like to speak to who was in the area at the time and who may be able to help with inquiries.

Anyone with information to the identity of the man is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1372 23/07/16.
