WORKERS at a South Tyneside company are putting their best foot forward to boost a national children’s charity.

Staff at Tyne Tees Security Worldwide (TTS), based at Tedco Business Works, South Shields, will take part in this year’s Great North Run to boost Barnardo’s.

Ross Dunkley, Rebecca Hood and Chris Varley have vowed that aching limbs and blisters won’t deter them from raising as much money as possible.

Gary Goyal, managing director of TTS, said workers at his company hope to raise £2,500 for the good cause, with the help of a £300 contribution from Reliance Financial Services.

Mr Goyal said: “I am thrilled that this year we are able to enter a team for the Great North Run in aid of Barnardo’s.

“The dedicated team have shown that they are willing to put in the training for one of the toughest, yet most exhilarating challenges of their life.

“Knowing the money we raise will be used to improve the lives of vulnerable children throughout the UK is the best part of all.

“We are taking part in this event for Barnardo’s because we really believe in their cause.

“The charity helps more than 190,000 vulnerable and disadvantaged children every year and has services across the UK, tailored to specific needs.

“Barnardo’s make a real difference to the lives of the children and families they work with.”

Apart from helping thousands of children, Barnardo’s also runs more than 800 services across the UK.
