A South Tyneside Santa Claus is set to get behind the wheel for good causes as Christmas cheer is spread in South Tyneside.
Darren Murphy, 34, from Hebburn, is to don his Father Christmas outfit for the fourth consecutive year to raise money for charity.

The taxi driver, who works for Ken’s Minibus Services, will dress as Santa for his shift on December 16, donating all tips received to Hebburn Helps, which has a food bank and crisis response team.
He will also visit children in their home from December 11 onwards in his Santa suit, wishing them a merry Christmas.
A home visit costs £5, with all funds again going to Hebburn Helps.
Darren said: “The children always love it and find it amazing that Santa is in their house.
“I go in the house, see the children, wish them a merry Christmas and try to provide them with a great memory.
“It’s great to be able to spread some Christmas cheer around the area.
“As well as that, it’s fantastic to raise so much money for charity and help people who really need it.
“I just want to raise as much money as possible for such a worthy cause.”
Darren will also be visiting Tinkers Corner, on Rede Street, Jarrow, every Wednesday morning in December as Santa.
He will also attend Hebburn Helps’ Polar Express on December 16, the same day he will be driving his taxi as Santa.

Last year, he raised almost £400 for the Charlie Cookson Foundations for his festive efforts. He selects a different charity to help each year.
