A keen snapper captured these amazing images of the Northern Lights last night.
As our skies rippled with the colours of the Lights these great pictures were taken by reader Steven Lomas next to Marsden Rock.
Steven from Marsden, South Shields, captured the phenomenon, known as aurora borealis which is caused by the interaction of the solar wind - a stream of charged particles escaping the Sun - and Earth’s magnetic field and atmosphere.
