AN energetic restaurant worker isn’t enjoying training for the Great North Run – he’s Lovin It!

Adam Carson, from Marsden, South Shields, is taking part in the world’s biggest half-marathon next weekend.

The 22-year-old is a crew trainer for McDonald’s in King Street, South Shields, and is running in aid of the fast food chain’s charity, the Ronald McDonald House.

Adam said: “I wanted to do the run for a worthy cause, so that’s why I picked the Ronald McDonald House charity.

“The charity provides home from home accommodation for families whose children are in hospital, so they can all be near each other. It’s very inspirational.”

Adam won’t be munching Big Macs any time soon, as he continues his training regime.

He said: “I am hoping to do the run in about two hours 20 minutes, and I’ve been doing a fair bit of training, so I am feeling quite confident.

“I’ve already raised a few hundred pounds, but I am aiming to raise as much money as possible from the run.”
