A SOUTH Shields pub is back in business after a £150,000 facelift.

The Fountain Inn, in Highfield Road, reopened this week after being converted into a Flaming Grill pub restaurant.

General manager Bob Teasdale said: “The opening has been a triumph, with great feedback from regulars on the delicious new menu and the fantastic interiors.”

Flaming Grill is part of the Staffordshire-based Spirit Pub Company, which owns and operates about 800 managed pubs across the UK.

Other brands in its portfolio include Chef and Brewer, Fayre and Square and Taylor Walker.
