Metro commuters have been hit by weekend travel woes after a points failure halted train services between Jarrow and South Shields.
Trains are now back up-and-running on the route between the two towns, but commuters are being warned to expect delays of up to 25 minutes.
Go North East accepted Metro tickets on bus service 27 while the issue was fixed.
Tyne and Metro Metro tweeted shortly after 5pm today: "No trains Jarrow to South Shields due to a points failure.
"Go North East are accepting Metro tickets on bus services 27."
They then announced on their twitter account that trains on the line were back on the move just after 6pm.
