A fitness expert is helping to boost women’s health and confidence is getting set to launch her unique style of training in South Shields.

Donna Kerr-Foley opened her first gym in Prince Consort Road, Hebburn, at the beginning of the year, finally realising the dream she had harboured since she was a teenager.

“It is a dream of mine to expand No Lippy into two or three more areas and set up a couple more No Lippy gyms, so this is great stepping stone towards my long term goals.”

Now, after being approached by the owners of Westoe Crown Community Hub she has decided to bring her No Lippy Gym brand to South Shields.

As of Monday, women-only classes in a range of fitness styles will be delivered at the hub in Sea Winnings Way.

Mrs Kerr-Foley said: “We were approached by those who run the hub to see if we wanted to use the studio as a base, as they were looking for a well-branded business to attract clients to the venue.

“I had no intention of setting up in South Shields at the moment, but it’s a great opportunity.

“All the No Lippy trainers will teach at least one session at the hub to ensure a wide variety of classes and levels are taught. It is also an opportunity for the instructors to grow as personal trainers and fitness trainers. “

Donna launched her No Lippy Boot Camp six years ago – just four weeks after giving birth to her second son.

She went on to franchise the idea – with trainers now delivering her style of fitness workouts across the country.

Last year, she became the first instructor to deliver the new fitness craze Ripafit to the region after being chosen from hundreds of others to trial it in the North East.

Sessions, costing £3.50 or £6 for a double session, will take place throughout the week at the community hub and include some classes which are not taught anywhere else like Ripafit, Box Fit and 20,20,20.

Other sessions include metafit and body attack.

Mrs Kerr-Foley added: “It is a dream of mine to expand No Lippy into two or three more areas and set up a couple more No Lippy gyms, so this is great stepping stone towards my long-term goals.”

There is no need to book a session, people can turn up and pay at reception. However, people are asked to arrive 10 minutes early to complete registration.

The South Shields class starts on Monday with Pump It Up at 5.30pm.
