It’s set to be girl power all the way tomorrow at a South Tyneside squash club.

Boldon Squash Club will be opening its doors to women and girls only as part of a national drive to encourage more women to take up the sport.

The event is a joint venture between England Squash and Sport England to promote women and girls’ squash/racketball.

The free drop in will be between noon and 4pm.

All equipment will be provided and coaches will be on hand to encourage those taking part.

The drop-in will be followed by weekly sessions starting on Tuesday.

For seven weeks, the sessions dedicated to women and girls will learn the skills of the sport.

The hour-long sessions will start at 7pm and cost £3.

Equipment will be provided.

Boldon Squash Club is based in Sunderland Road, East Boldon.

Anyone interested in playing is asked to contact coach Kev Forster on 07866 903364 or email kev.astro@yahoo.co.uk
