A TEENAGE model from South Tyneside has seen off competition from across the country to reach the final of a national competition.
Aisha Allon is one of 20 young models who have won a place in the final of the Miss Teen British Isles competition.
The 17-year-old, of Canberra Drive, Brockley Whins, South Shields, was chosen as one of the finalists by a panel of judges after sending in a selection of pictures.
Miss Allon, who recently qualified as a beauty therapist, has been modelling for three years, since she competed for the Gazette’s Face of 2011.
She now says this competition “means the world” to her as she seeks to make it big in the modelling world.
The former South Shields Community School pupil said: “I am really passionate about fashion and modelling.
“The competition means the world to me, and if I was to win the contest, it would kick-start my career.
“I know some of the winners and runners-up in the past have gone on to model in America, which is something I’d love to do.
“I love modelling, and I’d like to be in all the top magazines.”
Miss Allon now needs sponsorship to help her realise her dreams.
The final of the competition will be held at Liverpool’s Hilton Hotel on Sunday, September 21, but the South Tynesider needs a helping hand.
She said: “I need sponsorship, and that sponsor will be promoted at the event.
“I’m looking for a sponsorship of £250, and it’s very important.
“The business will be allowed to come down to Liverpool and promote any of its products on the day, and this competition means a huge amount to me.”
