EMOTIONAL tributes have been paid to a woman who has spearheaded one of South Tyneside’s most successful firms, after she lost a two-year battle with cancer
Christine Dickson, 62, retail and finance director for South Shields-based Dicksons family pork butchers Dicksons, died peacefully at home today.
She has been described as a pillar of strength by her brother Michael, who she worked alongside to build up the firm from a single store to a chain of more than 20 shops, with annual sales of £10m.
Christine started work at the company at 16, and is credited for being the cornerstone of the firm for decades.
