A sinkhole which forced the closure of part of the A1 has now been repaired.
Roads are now open in both directions, after the removal of a contraflow, on the A1 at Lobley Hill, Gateshead, following the appearance of a sinkhole on Saturday night.
The sinkhole had appeared on the northbound carriageway between juntion 67 and junction 68.
During repairs there was no charge for motorists using the Tyne Tunnel.
Now, work has been completed, toll charges are now back in place.
