MARKET stall holder Bridget Brosnan says everyone should come to shop in South Shields.
The 79-year-old – a distant relative of 007 actor Pierce Brosnan – made a New Year’s Resolution to open her own market stall, and, as we reported earlier this week, she’s fulfilled her dream.
Margaret, who lives in Glenthorpe House in West Stevenson Street, South Shields, says that working on her bric-a-brac stall is a fantastic way to meet people.
She said: “It’s the only way to meet people. I don’t like bingo and I don’t go out for a drink, so it’s lovely and everybody is so friendly.”
Margaret also spoke of her love for the town.
She added: “South Shields is the loveliest place in the country.
“Why would people go anywhere else?
“It’s not jam-packed with people rushing around like they would be in Leeds or in London and the people are so friendly.”
