Charity champions are stepping up for the fight against cancer at the 24 hour Faith, Hope and Love walk in South Tyneside today.
The second annual extravaganza, held at Bents Park, South Shields, will raise vital funds for Cancer Connections, based in Harton Lane in South Shields.
A terrific total of 27 teams - all comprising of at least eight members - will take turns to complete laps around the park until 9am tomorrow.
A wide variety of live music will keep an extra spring in the step of the caring walkers.
Cancer Connections co-founder Deborah Roberts is delighted with the support of the public for the event, which is a key fundraiser for the charity.
South Tyneside Mayor, Coun Ernest Gibson kicked off the walk this morning, with entrants led out by South Tyneside Pipes and Drums band.
